This book is a practical and entertaining guide to the traditional herbalism of Thailand. It is written for the beginning herbalist or for the general reader with a curiosity about the fascinating topic of holistic health and Eastern medicine. This book is the first in a series on the subject of the traditional medicine of Thailand with upcoming volumes named Traditional Thai Massage Therapy and Acupressure and The Spiritual Healing of Traditional Thailand. As the first volume in the series the current title contains a brief overview of the history theory and spirituality of traditional Thai medicine but the focus of the book is largely on the application of these ancient ideas in modern Western life. C. Pierce Salguero is a member of the American Herbalist Guild and the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. He has a degree in Anthropology and East Asian Studies and has travelled widely in Thailand India and China studying traditional medicines. He lived in Thailand for some years studying under Lek Chaiya Baan Nit and the Shivagokomarpaj Traditional Medicine Hospital where he also taught courses on traditional massage and herbal medicine.
